My Dad has a joke I love that he tells when we are in the car returning home from the city. He sighs audibly when we cross the Tom Ugly bridge back into the Sutherland Shire, then we laugh and say "Phew, good to be back in the Shire."
Today I went to Jersey (more on this later) and as we drove over the bridge and back into Manhattan I sighed and thought to myself "Phew, good to be back in the city."
Looks like you can take the girl away from the Shire, but you can't change her nature.... How depressing. Anyway... I better be off to buy a "What up 212?!" bumper sticker.
Wow. I had to Google 'What Up 212' to know what you're talking about.

52%... Love it! I actually learnt this one in Sydney, a few weeks before I left. Pants and I were watching the Office when Pam was moving to NYC. She says to the camera "I'm going to be a little fish in the big Apple - What up 212?" Then I over used the phrase in Sydney to the extent that it was no longer fun by the time I arrived. I have a new favourite annoying phrase though -"zactly disease"... Two words, infinite fun.
